Effective 8 October 2026 · version 1.0 · Slovenščina
Gobe is a free learning aid for recognising mushrooms. This policy explains what data the app processes, why, and what your rights are. The Slovenian version prevails in case of differences.
In short: the app has no user accounts and works offline. It sends anonymous usage data only if you allow it, and you can change that at any time in Settings. It never sends your name, email, location, photos or what you type into the search field.

The app stores a few settings on your phone so it works as expected. This data never leaves your phone:
You can delete it by uninstalling the app or clearing the app’s data in your phone settings.
On first launch the app asks whether it may send anonymous usage data. If you choose “No, thanks”, nothing is sent and no analytics identifier is created on your phone.
If you choose “Allow”, the app sends:
Never sent: name, email, phone number, location, photos, contacts or the text you type into the search field.
Purpose: improving the app, e.g. where the quiz gets stuck, which questions are unclear, and which mushrooms users miss.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, for storing the identifier on your device, consent under the Slovenian Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-2).
Processor: PostHog Inc., 2261 Market Street #4008, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. Data is stored on PostHog Cloud EU servers in Frankfurt, Germany. PostHog participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. IP addresses are not stored.
Retention: at most 1 year, after which data is deleted automatically.
Withdrawing consent: in the app go to Settings → Privacy and switch off “Send anonymous usage data”. Sending stops immediately and the random identifier is deleted from your phone. Data already sent is no longer linked to your device and is deleted when the retention period ends. “Reset analytics ID” lets you start with a new identifier at any time.
“Report a mushroom” opens your email app with a prepared message. You send it yourself, from your own address — the app itself sends nothing.
If you write, we receive your email address, text and any photos. We use them only to reply and to add new mushrooms to the app. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to your message (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Messages are stored in a Gmail (Google) mailbox and kept as long as needed for that purpose, at most 2 years. Photos are never published without your explicit permission.
Sources on mushroom cards and in “About” (e.g. gobe.si, Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, the Official Gazette) open in your browser. Their owners’ privacy policies apply there.
The app is not intended for children under 15 without adult supervision. For analytics, consent for a child under 15 can only be given by a parent or guardian.
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Because analytics data is anonymous and we don’t know who you are, we cannot link it to you without the identifier — the quickest way to “disconnect” it is withdrawing consent in Settings. For questions or requests, email vika.pirnat@gmail.com.
If you believe your rights have been violated, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, www.ip-rs.si.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. The app will inform you of significant changes (e.g. new types of data).
